Microsoft Released Office 2013 (Office 365) Consumer Preview, Download now for Free -

On this Monday, Microsoft  unveils the Public Preview of their next version of office suite named Office 2013 (Codenamed: Office 15) and which is also known as “Office 365. 
Office 2013 will come with new features and new design and it will be the first office suite ever that is made for desktop computers as well as for notebook computers  (Specially for Touch Based Devices). The news about Office 365 came shortly after the “Release Preview of Windows 8” which gives an impression that Office 365 is made for touch screen devices and specially for Windows 8.

Office 2013 Consumer Preview comes with many new features such as cloud integrationLive Streaming, Skype Integration and Many more. 
If you are worrying about your existing Office suite, you don't need to worry anymore. According to Microsoft, the new Customer Preview version of Office 2013 will be installed with your existing Office suite such as Office 2003, 2007 or 2010.  Which means you can have both versions of Microsoft Installed in your PC (i.e your Old version of office and Office 2013)
However, there is no date or pricing told by Microsoft for the launch of their new version of Office.

Integration with Skydrive:

Microsoft said that “By Default, all documents saved in office 2013 will be stored on cloud, tied with your Windows Live ID. so your content is always available across your tablet, PC and phone. Now you should make habit of seeing your work saved on SkyDrive, for instance, instead of C drive. Your documents would be available in your PC when you’re offline and sync when you reconnected.

Skype:

Yup, Skype, The Next Generation Office suite will come with Skype, There will be a integration between Skype and Microsoft Office Applications, For example, Outlook 2013 can sync with your Skype contacts and contacts present in your other accounts. Not only this, When you subscribe to Office 365, you’ll get 60 minutes of Skype world minutes every month.

Windows 8 applications:

OneNote and Lync represent the first new Windows 8 style applications for Office. These applications are designed to deliver touch-first experiences on a tablet. A new radial menu in OneNote makes it easy to access features with your finger.

Installation on  upto 5 PCs:

Now you can install Microsoft Office 2013 on up to five PCs that are running Windows 7 and/or Windows 8, But there is also a bad news for Windows XP and Windows Vista Users, that Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported.

Roaming:

Once you are signed in to Office 365 Account, your personalized settings, including your most recently used files, templates and even your custom dictionary and much more things will be synchronized in any of the PCs that contains Office 365. Office 365 even remembers where you last left off and brings you right back to that spot in a single click.

Office on Demand:

With a subscription of Office 365, you can access Office even when you are away from your PC by using the new Office on Demand service, which allows you stream an Office application  directly from Microsoft’s servers to a computer on which Office is not installed.

Free Lifetime Upgrades:

The new Office is available as a cloud-based subscription service. As subscribers, consumers automatically get future upgrades in addition to exciting cloud services including Skype world minutes and extra SkyDrive storage.

Additional SkyDrive Space:

Microsoft will provide an additional 20 GB of SkyDrive storage. which Microsoft normally sells for an additional $10 per year. (Normally, SkyDrive comes with 7 GB of free storage)

Minimum Requirements of Microsoft Office 2013 are
  • Processor: 1 GHz or greater x86/x64 Processor with SSE2 instruction set
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM (for 32-bit) & 2 GB RAM (for 64-bit)
  • Hard disk: 3.5 GB free disk space
  • Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer
  • Graphics: DirectX10 supported graphics card and 1024x576 minimum screen resolution
