Microsoft introduced its new upcoming Windows Phone 8 (Codenamed: Apollo) -

In our previous post we have told you about “New Surface Tablet from Microsoft” but it looks like that Microsoft is now getting deeper in Electronic Gadget Development. Microsoft also announced its New  Phone, The Windows Phone 8 (Codename: Apollo).
The Windows Phone 8 will be different from other mobile phones. It supports muti-core processors, higher screen resolutions and newer wireless technologies.
The New thing about this Mobile is that it will come with Windows 8  Pre-installed in it. Before WP8 All Previous versions of Windows Phone were based on Microsoft’s old mobile OS, but now, The Windows Phone will also use the same upcoming OS (Windows 8) which is used for Desktops and Laptops.
However, There is also a bad news for Current Windows Phone User i.e they can’t upgrade their current Windows Phone to new Windows Phone 8.

Support For Multi-Core Processors:

All previous versions of Windows Phone were running a Simple Single Processor which was a major concern for users who want faster processing ability. But now Windows Phone 8 will come with Support for multi-core processors (which is common in Android and iOS devices).

HD Screen Resolution:

There’s also support for better screen resolutions i.e 1280 x 768 and 1280 x 720, Which is better than the 800 x 480 screen of the Nokia Lumia Phones, which will allow devices of larger displays to be made while also keeping the resolution perfect.

Removable Micro-SD Card Support.

The new Windows Phones include support for external storage in the form of microSD cards to Extend the Base Storage. Fore the very first time in windows phone, Now you will be able to extend phone memory by using MicroSD cards.

Dynamic Live Tiles.

Windows 8 will come with with more room live tiles.Previous versions of windows Phone only had 8 Live tiles but now Windows Phone 8 will have space for 32 live tiles. Not only this, The live tiles in Windows Phone 8 are much more Customizable as compared to the previous versions of Windows Phones. Now you can also resize, stretch and color tiles. All the tiles, no matter what the size, shape and color is, will remain live and are updated continuously.  You can also add apps, games, photos, contacts and much more things in your Live Titles.

Offline Maps.

WIndows Phone 8 will now show Nokia Maps instead of their Bing Maps.Not only this Maps data will be stored on the phone now so that you can use them offline too. And with the built-in Nokia map technology, you can get turn-by-turn driving instructions in many countries.

Safe and Faster browsing with Internet Explorer 10.

Windows Phone 8 will come with support and features of Internet Explorer 10 (Including support for HTML 5). Not only this, With IE10, you can also download Webpages slightly faster as compared to other Smartphones.  In IE10, HTML rendering will be 2 times faster and JavaScript performance will be 4 times faster.
In addition to faster browsing. ‘SmartScreen anti-phishing filter’ is also added in Windows Phone 8 which blocks malicious websites in real-time and filters data of to protect Million of users from malwares.

NFC (Near Field Communication)

NFC (Near Field Communication) is also added in Windows Phone 8. which will allow usersto make contactless payments, where you might tap your phone on a register to pay rather than pull out a card. \
But instead of storing elements on the phone, it stores elements on the SIM. Microsoft says it will offer the most complete wallet experience on the phone.

Windows Phone For Business.

Administrators, Business Users, and Tech-savvy users may find some Gaps in older versions of Windows Phone, These gaps are filled by Windows Phone 8. Secure Boot and Support for Encryption is also added in Windows Phone 8.

Windows Phone for Developers.

Windows Phone 8 will come with native code support which means that now software developers can write their apps in native code. Now it will be very easy for the Developers to create a Windows Phone app if they already have a Windows 8 app that runs in the Metro environment (or vice versa).
For consumers, it means that they will more apps and better hardware to run them.
